Panel at Florida SuperCon 2014: Spirituality in Anime/Video Games

I will be the host for a panel at Florida SuperCon 2014!  This is my first panel and only my SECOND convention that I’ve ever been to (I’ve never even been to SuperCon!).  So yes, to say that I’m pretty nervous is a fact.  But, at the same time, I’m used to speaking to groups of people in a small setting like this, so it’s not a big deal for me.  I’m more nervous about everything working and people enjoying the panel not the public speaking part.

The panel will be about Spirituality in Anime and Video Games.  Basically, I will be showing some anime and some video games that have strong religious tones in them (mainly Christianity, myself being a Christian).  There is a lot of religion in anime/video games, and many people don’t know it or notice it at all.  The other purpose of this panel is to show that the Japanese use religions more as a “setting” for their plots, or just as something interesting to throw into their media.  It’s not like the USA where we use religion sometimes indirectly, the Japanese use it as literally a part of a story, that’s all.  There’s no “hidden meanings” or whatever, it’s just that it’s not a big deal to them, but that can be confusing for Western viewers who might be more sensitive or aware of it.

If you are in Miami, or know someone who is in Miami (or Florida in general), let them know so they can come down to the Miami Beach Convention Center on Saturday, July 5th at 12:15pm-1:15pm and check out my Panel which you can find here.

All the info. is below as well.  Thanks so much, God bless!
