Gaming With God: Collector's Edition

What do you imagine a collector’s edition of a videogame should include? The soundtrack? Behind the scenes footage? Figures? Maps of the game’s environment?

Sometimes they come with all of this and more. I don’t purchase many of these as they are often expensive and I like to save money when buying my games. Also, I’m not too interested in the extras unless it’s a figure or some kind of collectible that I can display.

When it comes to writing though, I end up with so many articles on certain topics that they could actually have a collector’s edition! My own blog has many articles that I have yet to cohesively put together in ways that are easy to read, and I’m working on getting everything around here more organized. One way I wanted to make it simple to find some of my older posts was by creating a “collector’s edition”.

I’m on staff for Beneath The Tangles, the largest Christian anime blog online. I wrote a column for a time called Gaming with God where I compared certain scenes or characters from videogames to biblical truths, and it was a lot of fun to do. It ran its course and I did not continue updating the column. Though, keep your eyes on it as I have a new post coming this month for it!

I had forgotten how inspiring these posts were for me, so I wanted to shine some light on them. Below you will find a list of all those articles and which game they relate to. If you’ve never played the game I wrote about, don’t worry, I explain the game and give background to what I am talking about to help those that are unfamiliar with the game. Some of these games are a little obscure, as I am a big fan of JRPGs so some you may not have even heard of, but that’s what makes it more fun. There are so many games out there that it’s fun to learn about new ones, and I hope that these posts will encourage you, especially during these tough times we are all going through.
