The past is in the past and we are in the beginning of a new year. 2020 is behind us, and I hope that 2021 will be a much better year. In the gaming world, there was a lot going on and so much news to cover. I should have posted this around the end of December, but with so much going on in my personal life I did not get around to it. Better late than never, right? This will be the second post in my new column, Sidequest News, where I get you up to speed on what is going on in video games and what Christian gamers are up to as well!
So let’s get right to it! The first thing I want to talk about is The Game Awards! I watch it every year, and even though I don’t 100% agree with the winner of game of the year, it’s still enjoyable to see. Some of my favorite award winners are below, let me know what you thought of the awards.
Let’s not forget all the amazing world premier of various trailers for upcoming games. I can take up tons of space inserting all the videos and talking about them, but I would rather direct you here to check them out. Let me know which games you are the most excited about!

- The biggest news of the month of December was the release of the PS5 and XBOX Series X. They have had limited supply, worse than when the Switch was released, and people are clamoring to get one. Have you been able to pick one up? What do you think of the new consoles thus far?
- In other news, Cyberpunk 2077 was pulled from the PlayStation Store because of various bugs and issues the game had. Those that purchased it were given a refund, amidst much frustration from gamers. I haven’t seen a game have so many issues since Assassin’s Creed Unity!
- Have you ever listened to Christmas music with a video game twist? Well, here at Gaming & God we put together a few albums you might enjoy! Oh, and one of our wonderful writers, Andrea, also put some together on her blog as well for you to check out.
- Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are implementing new ways to interact safely online for gamers. We all know that there are a lot of people online, and with that comes negativity, insults and anger at times. Be careful and do not rush to argue, but be a peacemaker instead.
