Mega Man is one of my favorite video game icons. I have wanted to write something about him and his world but wasn’t sure how to go about it. Personally, I’m more of a Mega Man X fan and even have the comics!
If you’re not a MMX fan, then let me give you some background information. Mega Man’s era has long past and Dr. Light’s final creation was Mega Man X, his ultimate robot to keep peace in the world. He is awoken to find a world where Reploids and humans live and work together. Reploids are basically human-like robots with their own intelligence and race.
These same Reploids can become Maverick, which means they turn against humans and their fellow Reploids, malfunction and become rebellious to society. A group of Maverick Hunters is formed by Sigma, their leader. He and his team make sure that no Maverick Reploids are out causing havoc, so they either join the team to hunt others or face destruction.
Mega Man X, alongside his friend Zero, join the hunters and both become the best hunters of all. X begins to realize though that there has to be a better way than just destroying all the rebellious Reploids. He desires peace, as he was designed to do, and wants to unite humans and robots to coexist without violence. As you progress through each game (there are 8 games) you start to see X take steps towards his dream, but alas he has to continue fighting.

This reminds me of how life is continually a fight. Whether you are a believer in Christ or not, you know that life isn’t easy. We have to deal with our own negative decisions, others’ decisions on our behalf before we were even born, bills, co-workers or classmates, breakups or living single, and much more. No matter what your situation is, you know it’s a fight. #thestruggleisreal
Yet, I thank God that we have someone on our side that fights for us (Romans 8:34). As long as we are fighting on our own and trying to do it our way, it’s an uphill battle. You are going against life’s current because you aren’t plugged into the One that has the answers and strength to overcome your issues.
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

I have gone through things like breakups, not having any money at all (I’m talking about 0 in my balance), car breaking down in the middle of the road, so-called friends back-stabbing me, and so many more wonderful trials (insert sarcasm here). Yet, through it all, I have relied on Jesus Christ to give me the strength to fight on. Just like Mega Man X, we have a constant battle against an enemy that doesn’t quit. Whether it’s satan or the consequences of our own choices, I want you to thank Him because He’s going to give you what you need to keep on fighting.
