The month of January has truly flown by! A few weeks ago I was celebrating the new year with my family, watching fireworks burst outside our home and now it’s almost February. As the year continues, one personal goal I have for 2023 is to dedicate more time to my relationship with God, prayer and ministry. Beneath The Tangles, which I am on staff with, hosts a weekly bible study that’s been going steady for quite a while. I’ve been part of the it since it’s inception and I wanted to invite you, my readers, and be encouraged by God’s word and a fun bunch of fellow gamers/geeks.
I’m not one to reinvent the wheel, so instead of starting my own bible study and probably not being consistent with it, I would rather direct others to one that is solid and I can vouch for. It’s on Discord every Sunday at 7pm Eastern, just join the small-group audio channel or #small-group chat and you will see us there. You just click the voice button and hop on, even if you don’t want to use audio that’s OK, most people prefer to participate via chat.
The group leaders, Mechahawk and LenLenRabbit, chose a chapter in the bible and we discuss it after it’s read. The questions aren’t anything too difficult, just to get you thinking on how to apply the scriptures to your life or give insight that will benefit others. Afterwards, we often stream either anime or a community game on Discord (I volunteered to stream anime).
It’s not just a bible study though, there are many more channels that may interest you:
