Revamping Gaming & God for 2025: My New Plans

It’s been a long time since I popped in to say hello! There’s so much going on in my life that this blog has not been given the time I have wanted to. For months I’ve wanted to sit down and detail what I want to do moving forward with Gaming & God, fresh ideas I want to try, and revamp how I approach reaching out to gamers in general. This is not just a place to post on WordPress, but a ministry and resource for those that love video games and want to learn more about faith, God, and Christianity.

Let me start by going over why I have been so quiet for a while. Seasons change for all of us, and gaming has been one that did for me. I don’t find myself playing as much as I used to since I have a family to care and provide for. I’m not in my 20s or early 30s anymore, and life is different as you get older and have more responsibilities, priorities, and work to do.

Video games have not waned in interest, but the time I have to play them certainly has. My main focus after my relationship with God is my family, so blogging and streaming have had to take the back burner. I’m not without ideas to pen, but after working all day and relaxing when I can it’s hard to sit down and gather the mental energy I need to create. Keep in mind, I also pay yearly (WordPress business account) to keep the “lights on” here at G&G, and at the moment I do not receive any income for maintaining it.

However, I won’t close it down because I still receive messages about someone finding my articles and being encouraged. It’s not very often, but when I get those, it motivates me to keep finding ways to share the gospel of Christ with gamers, geeks, otaku, and anyone in between.

2025 is the year I’m going to give it my best shot and make this more about community than just me quietly publishing posts behind a keyboard. You can find me on Twitch where I hope to stream 1-2 days a week even if it’s just chatting with you, or sharing more on social media (links below!). I’ve thought of doing some chill streams where I just finish up an article, catch up on a manga to review, or something else. There are tons of games I have to play and review as well, some you probably have not heard of so I’ll be live for those as well!

What do I want to accomplish for Gaming & God in the next 12 months, and hopefully for many years to come? I like writing out what my ideas would be, and even if I don’t do them all, at least I have a reference to see what I did or didn’t do.

Here goes nothing, and let me know your feedback of these in the comments, and anything else you would like to see happen with the site.

  • Publish a blog post once or twice a week.
  • Go live on Twitch once or twice a week, and figure out streaming on multiple platforms (X, Youtube, Facebook, etc.)
  • Finish pending reviews of Steam games and publish them here.
  • Get a bit more involved in the Christian gaming communities I’m part of, as well as Beneath The Tangles.
  • Launch a Patreon, as well as other ways to get funds whether by offering products, affiliate links, achieving affiliate in Twitch, etc.
  • I would like to attend the next NCMS (Nerd Culture Ministry Summit) if they have to do another. *This one is a maybe since it depends on my schedule.
  • Do some Spanish streams, and translate several of my blogs into Spanish. Essentially, I would like to have a site called Dios y Videojuegos and see how it goes! Gaming is HUGE in Latin America so it would be cool to see how that goes.
  • Branch out into places like Substack, TikTok (if it’s not banned!), and other platforms.

There you have it! Let’s see if I can be disciplined enough to just do a little bit every day and cross off some of these from my list.

What plans do you have for 2025? They don’t have to be gaming-related, so share them below! Let’s motivate each other to do as much as we can and honor God in all we do for 2025. Many blessings, and keep on gaming!

    1. Hey Andrew, thank you so much for the comment and for following! Yeah, I need to get a steam deck one day they look really fun. I have so many steam games I need to catch up on that would help a lot ha ha

  1. FYI – NCMS isn’t having a full summit this year. They’re doing a one-day thing in conjunction with a convention in California, near SF, I believe. And then the next summit is planned for spring 2026.

    1. Ohhh ok thanks for letting me know I wasn’t aware. Cali is wayyy too far haha. I am in FL.

Well, I hope for 2026 I can make it. God bless, appreciate the info

  2. Thank you very much for this blog. I would appreciate it if you could also stream on Youtube since I don’t use Twitch. (I think you can do simultaneous streaming, like Celestium and other christian streamers do) I speak Spanish so it’s a nice surprise to me that you want to focus on Spanish too. I think you should move forward, with Jesus, on this. I really like your ideas. Don’t be afraid, be strong and brave, have the faith of a child, I know you will have a lot of fun doing this.

    Much love,
    – Fran.

    1. Hi Fran thanks for the comment! Oh I will look up that streamer, never heard of them

Funny you mention simultaneous streaming, I was just playing around with stream elements and I can do that supposedly, just need to test it 🙂

So yeah I hope to stream on both and also X, lets see if it works 🙂

Thanks, que bueno que hablas Espanol tambien! Gracias por el apoyo 🙂

Lets see how the Spanish content goes! I will start looking into it, I would love to make a Spanish version of the blog. God willing it will encourage others and lead them to Christ.

      Gracias Fran!

  3. My goals vary from writing more, to being more consistent with my writing (and sharing it here too!), and spending more time with God. I’m honestly so bad about that! I have to be intentional about the time I spend, and know when to hang up the gaming controller.

I see a lot of writers on Substack! That would be an interesting platform to work with. 🙂

    1. Amen to all of that! Same here, it can be hard to hang up the controller for sure. I have a bad habit of staying up late sometimes almost till midnight playing an RPG and I’m like “hey, you need to sleep, your not in college anymore haha”

Substack! Yeah, I actuallly help write the weekly newsletter for Beneath The Tangles on Substack so I am definitely adding Gaming & God on there. I already have an account, just need to start posting and launching it more officially. Thanks again for the ideas, really does help!
