Five Streamers You Should Be Following

There are more and more faith-based streamers on Twitch, Youtube, Facebook, and (insert new streaming platform) constantly coming up and growing communities. I myself would love to stream, though I’m not very “entertaining” so when I ever do it’s to chat with others and get through my backlog. For those that take it seriously though, there are a few that I enjoy watching when they are live and I wanted to share some of them with you, in case you haven’t checked them out yet.

You can also go to my recommended streamers page and find more than the ones I mention here, and let me know of any that you would want me to follow and add to my page. I would love to increase the names that are there so leave some names in the comments!

If you aren’t familiar with what a “streamer” is, they aren’t the ones you see at parties. These are people who oftentimes while playing video games will have their camera and mic on, discussing various topics like what is happening in the game, talking to those in the chat, or they might have a special event going on. It’s lots of fun and you get to interact with the person as much or as little as possible depending on the size of their stream and if they are even paying attention to the chat.

As a follower of Christ, I prefer to be watching a stream of someone with similar beliefs as I avoid having to deal with foul language or other discussions that I would rather not be a part of. The five I chose to highlight have developed a strong community (as of this writing) so if you’re looking for some positive content, I recommend them.

Souzy

One of the OGs and a guy with a big heart, Souzy has been streaming on Twitch for several years and is often excited to interact with others. He was the lead pastor of the only church for gamers, God Squad Church, which also streams and I recommend checking out. He’s full of charisma, loves people and sharing the gospel as well as focuses on MMORPGs like World of Warcraft, Old School Runescape, Diablo, and FFXIV Online. He’s been in the streaming game for several years and is a seasoned gamer, so give him a follow!

Pastor Doostyn

Doostyn is one of the leaders over at God Mode Activated, a group of faith-based gamers who also have a discord community. As he says all the time, “I’m a real pastor who plays Pokèmon, Doom, and everything in between…all with the intention of sharing God’s love with the gaming world.” He is very kind and personal, interacting with those watching and playing a variety of games. Doostyn’s also read through the entire bible live and has community game streams as well. Feel free to ask him any questions you may have about faith, the bible, or a game you’ve been playing.

Aki & Peach

For those of you that stream with your kids, Aki & Peach are a family of gamers who play new and retro games. He often has his son or his wife playing with him and keeps things clean so you won’t have to worry about any language or unsavory content while he’s on. His beard is pretty epic, even though I don’t rock one but for you beard-folk, he’s in your tribe. Also, his background props of various retro games is very cool especially when I see anything Chrono Trigger or SNES-related.

PrayersFromAbigail

Abigail is someone I recently discovered and haven’t been following for very long. She’s a Vtuber who not only plays jump-scare games, Minecraft, Words on Stream among others but does bible studies as well. What’s a Vtuber you may be asking? It’s someone who streams using a computer-generated avatar or anime-styled avatar instead of showing themselves. So imagine an anime character interacting with the stream instead of a person, but it’s an actual person talking. It’s a different experience and I wasn’t used to it at first, but there’s always a new way of communicating and this is just another one! She is very kind, doesn’t get into heavy theological debates and has quite a few followers. I would recommend her to a younger female who wants to follow some family-friendly content, but definitely check out her stream at least once.

Retro Rewind Pod

Francisco is the guy that runs this fun stream where he goes through old-school retro games. He’s very kind and often will dress up either as SSJ Goku, a ninja, or just have a playful time while interacting with his followers. Interaction with the audience is what brings people back and he certainly does. I personally love games from the bygone era of the SNES, Genesis, NES, or even PS1 so when I see titles like Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, or Ni No Kuni you can bet I will be joining. He also prays for others on the spot and will pause the game to do so which is a blessing and thoughtful.

Give him a follow if you are into all things retro, whether it’s gaming, movies, TV or other media. They also record their podcast live so that’s fun to jump in as well.

When not conquering digital worlds in video games, he can be found reading, watching anime, listening to music writing, and just enjoying life as a geek in the city.

  1. Could you do a follow-up blog on small Christian Twitch streamers to give a nod? I found so many dope saints on that platform and even a community who’s trying to empower Christian streamers to better represent Christ in their streams.

    1. Hi there, I really like that idea! I will certainly do it. Do you have any in particular I should look into? I know a bunch, but not everyone
