Mission and Values

Serving the gaming community!

The purpose of Gaming and God is to bridge the gap between gamers and God, discovering spiritual truths in the games we play.

The church can be a rough place for gamers or those that are into geeky hobbies (anime, cosplay, D&D, board games, streaming, etc). Many are looked at as “childish” or immature, but that is not always the case. The more mainstream gaming becomes, as it continues to be every year. it shows that there are people in every stage of life enjoying them. Those stereotypes of a lonely kid in his basement are gone, videogames are global and are played by hundreds of millions of people.

I want Gaming & God to be a safe place for the believer and non-believer to learn about videogames, find community with others in a positive and faith-filled environment, and just have fun playing video games together! There are benefits to play, including making friends, relieving stress, solving puzzles, learning about culture, and some games have the player accomplishing morally good tasks. Those actions in-game can translate over to real life since they can be a positive influence. The same goes for negatively influencing games, but that’s why I want to showcase games that are helpful and not harmful more than not.

Games bring people together, whether it’s LAN parties, online communities, conventions, tournaments, eSports, Twitch, podcasts, articles, Youtube or however else we connect. For that reason, I’ve made a page for sharing different communities that either I’m a part of or I vet that they are safe and welcoming to gamers. I would hate to recommend a place where someone would feel rejected, bullied, or not invited.

Beliefs

To be more specific about my faith, I am a non-denominational Christian who believes in Jesus Christ and the bible. I borrowed the BGEA (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association) for the Statement of Faith portion. They are much smarter than me in writing one, and I agree with what they wrote!

If you have any other questions about me, need prayer, or want to talk about gaming, feel free to contact me! I’m not famous, so yes, I answer every email that is sent.

The purpose of this site isn’t only to know more about video games and the spiritual aspects behind them, but also to know you’re Heavenly Father, what Christ has done for you and how to have a peace that you cannot experience outside of Him.

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God revealing the love of God to the world.
    1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; John 3:16.
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6.
  • We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4 and 1:29; Acts 1:11 and 2:22-24; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4;
    2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 and 4:15
    .
  • We believe that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, and that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Furthermore we believe that God will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven, and that He will banish the unrighteous to everlasting punishment in hell. Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7.
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life. John 3:5-8;
    Acts 1:8 and 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10
    .
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment. 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15.
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the church. 1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23.
  • We believe that the ministry of evangelism (sharing and proclaiming the message of salvation only possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ) and discipleship (helping followers of Christ grow up into maturity in Christ) is a responsibility of all followers of Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15; 1 Peter 3:15.

  1. Quick question. If one honestly seeks forgiveness from Jesus Christ and right after tries to walk on a tightrope over a shark pool, sincerely trying to survive by getting to the other end, but dies in his attempt, will this person go to heaven?

    1. Hi there Lazarinth. When you make the decision that you want the forgiveness that Christ offers, and you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that He is God, rose on the third day and ascended to Heaven then yes, you will go to Heaven after you die regardless if its falling from a tightrope or whatever.

      I think you are asking this because it just sounds too easy right? Believe in Christ sincerely and give your life over to Him and thats it, your good to go. The reality is He made it very easy because all of Gods wrath over our sins was poured out on Him. We can now have a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father, because before we could not because our sins were in the way. God is holy, and the blood of Christ makes us holy since He was the sacrifice for our sins, all the messed up stuff we have done.

      Again, sounds easy, but its true. Now, if someone is faking it or thinking all this is a joke or whatnot, thats between them and God. Though I personally would never risk my eternity thinking I could get away with tricking God.

      Hope that answers your question.

      1. The reason for the tightrope over the shark pool is that it’s a loophole. If you’re honest about being forgiven, you get to die with a clean slate, and if you are sincere about surviving the tightrope and get eating by sharks anyway, it’s not suicide (which I’ve heard is no go for entering heaven).

      2. Hi there Lazariits not a loophole. There is no such thing. Sure, your sins are forgiven but who would ever do that anyways, walk over a tightrope with sharks. Reminds me of Hook and Peter Pan…..

        In regards to suicide, yes and no. The bible doesn’t specifically say if you suicide you go to hell. Theres no verse. But, taking your own life is dangerous because God never led anyone to commit suicide. So that person decided to take matters into their own hands, ignore God and do the act. Of course, every situation is different, and I personally will never say who goes to hell or heaven and who doesn’t. I am not the Judge, thats Gods job. He is merciful and does not want anyone to go to jell. To me, I think if it was up to humanity we would send almost everyone to hell because of how our hearts are, but Gods love sees past all that. Friend, trust in Him because He has been calling you for some time now. I encourage you to read the Bible for yourself and find those answers. Where you will spend eternity is not something you want to leave up to speculation or something you heard or read about. Seek God and you will find

      3. I have read the bible. There a several suicides in it. I had just heard that suicide was unforgivable. Now I know different, so I have nothing to fear from it. Thank you.

      4. No, you misunderstood what I was explaining. Yes, there are suicides in the bible but not one was led by the Holy Spirit, Christ or our Father. God never leads anyone to do that. Now, there are accidents that happen (for example…say you electrocute yourself, fall off a cliff or something crazy God forbid that happen!). But those are not suicides, they are accidents. I am not the judge of life, that is God. I would never, EVER recommend anyone to take their life, you included.

        It’s a scary thought to take a risk on your eternity. May I recommend checking out my article on FF 13 that I just wrote since it seems your a FF fan. It’s my latest article on my home page, I wrote about eternity as well. God bless ya, if I can help you in anyway I’m here.
