Poem: Worship

Romans 12:1
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

Am I on a false high, emotion aflame from the beats of sound?
Is this the way to Heaven, to bring fragrance to Your throne?
I don’t want to act like the rest, a puppet performing for their audience.
Are my arms raised enough, my cries loud enough, is this even real?
I need to let go, I need to be free, I don’t care what people think, I need to worship.
I will give my time, money, friends, family, career, life, as pure adoration to you.
I know that you will return it 100 fold. Take what I am and mold me to who I need to become.
Service to all, the way to greatness. I give you all praise. Make me holy as You are holy, merciful as you are merciful, a beacon of light shining to the lost.
It’s about You my Father, not me, it’s about accepting Your love, not impressing others, it’s about giving You thanks for You are worthy of all the glory.
I worship You, King of all Kings, Lord of Lords. I was made to love You, I was made to adore You. Beautiful savior, sweet lover of my soul…
